I have been in independent private practice in Palm Beach Gardens/Jupiter, Florida since 1998. I am a Psychologist with a solo, general practice seeing patients with issues from depression and anxiety to relationship conflicts. In addition, I am a medical psychologist who specializes in behavioral medicine. I emphasize stress management and pain management with a chronic illness population. I have worked with various chronic illness groups including diabetics, cardiac patients, gastroenterology patients, cancer, and multiple sclerosis patients. I have had privileges at the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and Jupiter Medical Center since 1997.
I choose to specialize in Rehabilitation Psychology for several reasons:
After I received my MS in Social Psychology from Yale University, I worked professionally with disabled people for four years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
I have been a chronic pain patient since an industrial accident in 1985 left me with severe back injuries. Today, after a long physical rehabilitation, I am 95%% healed.
I have a rare perspective in my field because I have been a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, a Clinical Rehabilitation Psychologist, and a long term chronic pain patient. This perspective enables me to make a unique and valuable contribution to Clinical Psychology.
